I live in beautiful Sydney, Australia, with my husband. Our 2 children, of whom we are extremely proud, are married to wonderful partners, and live near by.
From as far back as I can remember I have always done some form of art, whether it be painting, sketching, pottery, needlecraft, sewing tiny teddy bears, etc.
I discovered decorative painting in 1985. Initially this was mostly Bauernmalarei style. I was involved with the Folk & Decorative Artists Association for many years and was President for 3 years.
After joining the SDP in 1990 I found that there was a whole world of decorative painting out there that I wanted to be part of. I attended my first SDP Convention in 1995 and every year since. Attending convention has given me the opportunity to learn from many wonderful painters, many of whom are Master Decorative Artists. It has also given me the opportunity to form long lasting friendships that I will value forever.
I gained my Ann Kingslan Accreditation in 2002. In 2003 I obtained my Master Gilding Certificate from the Art Gilding Academy in Sydney. I became a Certified Decorative Artist with the SDP in 2004. I am a Jo Sonja’s Support Teacher in Australia. My work has been published and showcased in several Australian Magazines.
My interest in decorative painting ranges from traditional strokework (particularly Rosemaling), florals, still life, lace and Christmas themes. I like to paint in acrylics and oils.
